RiverHome Doula Services

An End of Life Doula providing compassionate conversation, support, and planning to create a meaningful and peaceful end of life for you or your loved one.

You and your family are my first priority.

One-on-one individualized service, on your schedule.

Education for caregivers.

Most families don’t understand or talk about this phase of life. I will make sure you know what to expect, what is normal, and how to maximize energy, comfort and peace.

Planning services for the final days.

Keeping the vigil is deeply sacred work.  Who is there? What is happening? These are choices you can make.

Helping families connect.

Overcome fear of the unknown. Reclaim this time for yourself and your family with understanding and lovingkindness.

You must have so many thoughts floating in your head right now...

“My mind is racing. There’s too much to think about. I don’t even know where to begin.”

“I can’t even begin to make all the phone calls.  I feel like I’m frozen.”

“I just don’t know what to do. I’m terrified.”

RiverHome Doula Services can help you plan out how you want to manage the days and weeks ahead.

About Us

Tracy Seffers has first-hand experience with the process of death and dying, spending days and nights at her mother’s bedside.  She says, “Some of the most important work I did was actually with our Dad, who was just overwhelmed. He couldn’t take in what the hospice nurses were telling him – so I did. After the hospice team would leave, I would make us coffee and sit with Dad.

“Here is a really hard thing we need to talk about, Dad.”

Quiet conversation by quiet conversation, one cup of coffee at a time, Tracy helped her father understand how to care for his wife, how to understand what was happening, and what would probably be happening next.

While the grief remained and deepened, little by little the fear and overwhelm subsided, so that her father could be fully present in his wife’s final moments – a great gift to both of them.

Though she didn’t know it at the time, Tracy was serving as an End of Life Doula (EOLD). Now, after a year and a half of training as an End of Life Doula, she offers this support to other families facing the end of life of a loved one.

“We are committed to restoring death as the natural, sacred experience it was meant to be, and in doing so, allow it to be our greatest teacher about how to live: with presence, compassion, non-judgement, and service.”
